All I can say is that I love my D5000 (actually ANY camera in my hands I love). But, its also all about the lens you choose as well.  I’m not sure what you want to know about the camera but, I can direct you to some websites that I used to make me want this camera.  Besides the fact that I don’t have to get on my knees for low shots because of the ultra versatile screen that flips in the direction that I like, over the way the D5100 flips out to the side (I might just buy it in the future or trade it in for the D5100…I dunno yet).  I have my evil eye on a couple of cameras out there that aren’t Nikon but, that’s besides the point.  This is how I did my research on it.  I went to the Nikon’s website: http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product-Archive/Digital-SLR-Cameras/25452/D5000.html.  They even have the manual for you there as well.  If you have an iPhone or iTouch…there’s an app for that Nikon stuff.  The 3 that I have are called Nikon Learn and Explore, Digital SLR Photography for Dummies and Min-U D5000.  Then there’s the Cnet.com website as well.  Just type d5000 in the search area.  You’ll see the pros and cons of the camera as well.  Or just Google it…the internet is very informative ya know.
